Merchandising Intern - Bradlee, MBA
Hello, my name is Bradlee. I am an MBA student at Brigham Young University. This summer, I am working in the Global Supply Chain Project Management Group in the Replenishment Division as a Project Manager.
My project is to develop a statistical model for establishing optimal inventory levels. It is a global project cutting across all Walmart U.S. stores and products. My daily tasks consist of driving my project through the five phases of the Walmart project life cycle – Define, Plan, Develop, Implement and Review. A sampling of specific tasks includes: defining the scope of the project (what’s in and what’s out), creating a project timeline and list of tasks and assignments, identifying project risks and mitigation plans, documenting business processes and mapping the current and future state, managing the project team’s work, planning for future project phases, and presenting to relevant associates. All of the Walmart associates I have worked with have been helpful, respectful and committed to helping me succeed. I have discovered a group of co-workers dedicated to teamwork and willing to spend some of their time working on my project. Associates at all levels of the organization have made themselves available to help and offer me guidance. After work, I enjoy the Walton Life Fitness Center. It is close to the office and convenient to get to after work for a great workout before heading home for the evening. The Fitness Center offers activities for all interests. My Saturdays are filled with hiking in the beautiful Ozark Mountains and enjoying the many outdoor activities in northwest Arkansas.
