Information Systems Division (ISD) Intern - Saahil, MBA
 My project is related to technology continuity and risk management for Walmart International. Some of my duties so far are to identify the relevant people in various countries who work on technology risk management and to build relationships with them. I am expected to provide a report with current highlights on technology continuity, risk management/mitigation and disaster recovery in all of Walmart’s international locations. My project is fun, because I get a lot of inter-cultural experience and a very in-depth knowledge of the subject.
A typical day involves answering e-mails that have accumulated over the night (because of the time differences), holding conference calls with international personnel, documenting what I learn and reading what my manager/group circulates. I also spend a lot of time proactively setting up meetings with people in my department, in the company and with associates who might help me with my project. I try to learn as much as I can while I am here. I also have the opportunity to sit in on (and even contribute to) a lot of other meetings that my team/area organizes. This helps me understand our group’s position and also allows me to build relationships with associates in other departments. I have been to the rodeo and several other lunches and dinners with the interns since we all live in the same complex. On the weekends I have had a chance to play cricket (yay!), to watch movies, go shopping and catch up on reading. We have also planned to go for a boat cruise on Beaver Lake, which will be fun!
