Truck Driving Championships

Walmart drivers participate in a series of truck driving championships at a local, regional and national level. Qualified drivers also have the opportunity to compete in the American Trucking Association’s State and National competitions.

Three Million Mile Safe Driving Award

Drivers reaching three million Walmart safety milestone miles may order a new Walmart truck with personalized tractor paint colors and special interior options.

The record-holder: Warren Greeno, 3.5 million safe miles. Warren Green holds the record for driving 3.5 million miles, the most safe miles of any Walmart driver. Walmart suprised him with a trip to the Peterbilt truck factory to pick out his brand-new Peterbilt tractor that he will only drive.

Community Involvement

CMN Safe Driving for Kids

Each year, Walmart raises and donates thousands of dollars to the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospitals. For two weeks each year, Walmart drivers raise money by doing what they do best – driving safely. During the two weeks, WalMart donates $.02 for each safe mile driven to the CMN.

Victory Junction Gang “Miles for Smiles”

The Victory Junction Gang Camp is a summer camp for chronically ill children. During a one-week period each year, Walmart donates $.02 per safe mile driven to the Victory Junction Gang Camp.

Trucker Buddy, International

Trucker Buddy is an organization educating and mentoring school children through a pen-pal relationship between truck drivers and children Grades 2 through 8. Each week, drivers share news about their travels with the class. Once a month, students write letters to drivers. Walmart is a corporate sponsor of Trucker Buddy, International. Driver participation is voluntary.
