In response to the tragic earthquake in Haiti, our operations around the world, along with the Walmart Foundation, are responding.
Walmart Gives Back for the Holidays
Walmart and the Walmart Foundation launched our annual holiday giving campaign, with deliveries to local food banks across the country. We joined with Operation Homefront to ensure that 10,000 children of military families receive toys and books for the holidays. We also donated wreaths, trucks and resources to help Wreaths Across America lay 16,000 wreaths at national cemeteries and memorial sites across the United States.
Walmart Foundation Announces United We Serve Grants to Assist Organizations Supported by Associate Volunteerism
In August 2009, the Walmart Foundation issued a challenge to Walmart associates across the U.S. to volunteer in their local communities. And they answered that call! The 10 organizations for which associates logged the most hours will each receive a $10,000 grant from the Walmart Foundation.
