Feeding Hungry Children and Families![]() A young girl takes a bite out of her healthy lunch from Boys & Girls Club of America's summer feeding program. Millions of Americans often do not know where they will find their next meal. This includes one in six children who will live on the brink of hunger. Now, more Americans than ever are relying on hunger relief organizations. To meet this increased demand, the Walmart Foundation donated $1.2 million to support provide healthy, summer meals to children in 2009. A $1.2 million grant to Boys & Girls Clubs of America purchased healthy meals for more than 93,000 children at 350 chapters across the U.S. An additional $250,000 was provided to local non-profits in 10 states where children have the highest risk of going hungry. |
