Our Office of Diversity was established in 2003 and focuses on fostering a high-performance culture based on inclusion. At Walmart, we are committed to unlocking the full potential of our global workforce by giving every associate the opportunity to learn, grow and advance. We believe we are a stronger team when we include different perspectives and ideas at every level and across all areas of our company. This strong belief in the power of inclusion is woven into our associate programs, charitable giving and our relationships with suppliers. Our founder, Sam Walton, understood that it would take collaboration among people with different points of view, backgrounds and experiences to help people save money so they can live better. Nearly half a century later, this commitment to diversity of thought has fueled our growth from one small, rural discount store to more than 8,400 retail locations under 55 unique banners in 15 different countries.
