2008 EEO-1 Data Charts
Walmart is an employer of choice for more than 1.4 million individuals throughout the United States. As a diverse employer serving communities nationwide, we recognize the importance of a solid commitment to diversity. As part of this commitment, we are proud to publicly share our EEO-1 data for the fourth consecutive time. The EEO-1 data allows our company to review the overall gender and racial makeup of our workforce. Our 2008 EEO-1 report shows continued increases in the total numbers of female and minority associates companywide. Key observations include: - Walmart experienced a net growth of more than 33,800 associates, bringing the total associate base in the U.S. to more than 1.45 million men and women.
- Walmart’s female associate base increased by nearly 13,000 totaling 869,545 female associates.
- Walmart’s minority associate base increased by more than 16,000 for a total of 509,626 minority associates.
