New Supercenter Creates Economic Opportunity for Bottineau

Wal-Mart store offers local residents chances to save money so they can live better

WHAT: The new Wal-Mart Supercenter opening in Bottineau means more than convenient shopping, wide selections and value prices. Bottineau County residents will see Wal-Mart’s impact in 150 new jobs and $15,000 in charitable contributions to local organizations. The store will host a grand opening celebration at 7:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 5.

Along with a wide selection of services and merchandise, the Supercenter will bring more than 150 planned new jobs to Bottineau. According to Store Manager Maria Clary the new jobs offer great opportunities for career advancement, “I started my career at Wal-Mart in 1998 unloading trucks at night and today I am a store manager,” said Clary. “Wal-Mart associates have opportunities to advance as far as their hard work and talent will take them,” she said.

Opening the Bottineau Supercenter will also bring convenience and value to hometown customers. “Many local residents have been driving over 90 minutes to the nearest Wal-Mart for groceries and other necessities,” Clary said. “With today’s gas prices, shopping close to home brings additional savings to our customers.”

The store will also contribute to the Bottineau community by providing $20,000 to charitable organizations in celebration of the grand opening. Store associates helped to raise $2,000 of the total grand opening grants by working a combined total 105 volunteer hours.
