White House Residents Set to Save at New Wal-Mart Supercenter
Environmental features save energy in new store
WHAT: The opening of the new Wal-Mart Supercenter will bring savings to White House in the form of a full grocery department and extensive merchandise selections, when the store opens Friday March 7. Located at 225 Wilkinson Lane, the store will celebrate its grand opening with a 7:30 a.m. ceremony.
Patty Fahey, store manager of the new, 194,763-square-foot Supercenter, said, “It’s all under one roof and customers won’t have to travel anymore.” The new Supercenter will provide area residents with a one-stop shopping destination 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition to the full grocery department and various merchandise offerings, Robertson County residents will now have access to a Tire & Lube Express and a convenient pharmacy with two drive-through lanes.
As a leader in environmental sustainability, the White House Supercenter’s store interior incorporates an environmentally friendly design using skylights, flooring made of recycled materials and energy saving lighting, while promoting sustainable product purchases, such as compact fluorescent light bulbs and organic food.
“Associates are looking forward to supporting the community and hope to get involved with local organizations and sustainability projects like recycling,” said Fahey.
The new Supercenter will also donate $18,000 to White House area charities as part of the grand opening celebration. Local donations include a $7,000 grant to Robert F. Woodall Elementary to increase safety for students and a $5,000 grant to the White House Heritage School for grades 6-12 tutoring and special education programs.

Associates who have worked at Wal-Mart for more than 20 years will join Store Manager Patty Fahey and Chamber of Commerce officials in the official ribbon-cutting and celebration of the store opening. The public is invited to the celebration.
