Wal-Mart names Kriegel local 'Teacher of the Year'

October 1, 2008 Amid the ear-busting roar of 1,600 cheering students, Deming High School instructor Liz Kriegel was introduced Thursday as Deming's Teacher of the Year. The third-year teacher was selected by the community in voting at Wal-Mart SuperCenter. Kriegel will be automatically entered in a contest selecting New Mexico's Teacher of the Year. That winner joins selections from 49 other states and Puerto Rico in a national contest. Read on
