Walmart uses holiday products to aide environment

November 26, 2008 Nov. 26--PLAINFIELD -- The Walmart here is hosting a "Recycle for the Holidays" drive. During the drive, individuals can bring in turkey frying oil, live Christmas trees, and non-foil wrapping paper. "We are working on 'greening' our store," said Sheryl Smith, personal sustainability captain. "We want to have zero waste by 2011 or 2013. We have a company that buys fryer oil. Our manager, Mike Elmore, came up with a way to dispose. Most people just throw the oil out or throw it in their yards." Read on
