Police officers spread holiday cheer
The Fayette Observer (Fayetteville, North Carolina) December 12, 2008 Some people might find having a police officer following them around the store while they shopped nerve-wracking. But 18 children at the Ramsey Street Walmart on Thursday afternoon didn't mind at all. After all, the cops were footing the bill. Fayetteville police held their second-annual Shop With a Cop event Thursday, pairing officers -- volunteering their off-duty time -- with children. Each officer helped a child budget $200 given to them for clothing, toys and other gifts. Read on
