Walmart May Soon Be Recycling Drop-Off Site

December 12, 2008 The Walmart on West Main Street may soon be a new recycling drop-off for Salem city residents. The city's director of solid waste, Jim Fender, and the Salem store have been in the process of reaching an agreement for the placement of the bins. "We hope to make some impact for the local community," said the store's co-manager Chris Forbes. The corporation had challenged each store to develop some program or to have some positive effect on its local community and environment. "It's a win-win situation for everyone.
