Sam's Club donates $5,000 to Hispanic Learning Center

January 25, 2009 Jan. 25--CONCORD --The Hispanic Learning Center received a donation of $5,000 from Sam's Club this month that will help pay for teachers' salaries and serve its more than 92 students. At a time when nonprofit organizations are worrying about donations dropping, this contribution provided some comfort. "At the moment, we're doing OK, but we don't have enough money for the end of 2009," said Doris Goedeke, founder and executive director of the center. "Now, we're good through May." Read more
