Lt. Gov. Bauer to bring Blanket Blitz 2009 to Upstate

March 8, 2009 More than 3,600 blankets will be distributed to seniors in need throughout South Carolina over the next few weeks through Blanket Blitz 2009. The program is a cooperative effort of Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer's Palmetto Tomorrow Foundation, the Walmart Foundation, the Duke Energy Foundation and other donors. "I am excited to kick off another round of blanket distributions again this year. Having strong corporate partners like Walmart and Duke means a great deal to me and the Palmetto Tomorrow Foundation's efforts to help our senior citizens," Bauer said. "My grandparents kept a blanket handy year-round in their later years, and many people will find a great deal of comfort in this small gesture of a warm blanket." Read on.
