Walmart expands California solar project
UPI April 22, 2009 U.S. retail giant Walmart Stores Inc. said Wednesday it would add solar panels on up to 20 stores in California, creating solar power and about 130 jobs. Currently using solar panels on 18 stores in the state, Walmart said the increased capacity would generate up to 32 million kilowatt hours of power each year -- enough electricity for 2,600 homes.
