Walmart’s trucking fleet is one of the largest private trucking fleets in the world, and our trucks rely on diesel for fuel. We have a responsibility to help reduce the emissions released by our trucks and to push for innovations that will help reduce our nation’s dependence on fossil fuels.
By 2015, our goal is to make our fleet 50 percent more energy efficient. We believe these fuel efficiency innovations will keep 26 billion pounds of carbon dioxide out of the air between now and 2020. Moreover, we believe our initiatives have the power to spark industry-wide changes when it comes to fuel-efficiency. | |
