We’re committed to providing our associates access to quality, affordable health care coverage. But our commitment doesn’t stop there. Too many Americans live without insurance. And they can't afford adequate health care under the current system.
We’re an active leader in achieving better health care and health care reform. There’s many ways we help support that reform. We can demonstrate the cost-saving benefits of information technology to the health care system because we've experienced those savings in our own business. The success of our in-store clinics is an example of how we can improve health care, and reduce expenses for both patients and providers.
Our Health Care Principles
Walmart believes in and supports the following principles for health care for America.
Health IT
Through our partnership called “Dossia,” we’re collaborating with Applied Materials, AT&T, BP America, Cardinal Health, Intel, Pitney Bowes, and Sanofi aventis to introduce greater efficiency into health care.
Better Health Care Together Coalition
Through the Better Health Care Together Coalition, we’re joining with leaders from business, labor, government and academia to call for reform to American health care.
University of Arkansas Center for Innovation in Health Care Logistics
The Center for Innovation in Health Care Logistics, at the University of Arkansas, is one of the ways that we are working to share our knowledge and advance the integration of information technology into health care.
