University of Arkansas Center for Innovation in Health Care Logistics
University of Arkansas Walmart has long been a leader in logistics and supply chain technology. American health care is a place where we see an opportunity to share our logistics and information technology expertise to improve the quality of care for all Americans. The Center for Innovation in Health Care Logistics In March 2007, we partnered with the University of Arkansas and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arkansas, Alabama and Illinois to announce the formation of The Center for Innovation in Health Care Logistics at the University of Arkansas. Our contribution included a $1 million grant over five years. Advancing the integration of information technology into health care The center will research technology gaps and roadblocks in health care, and identify applications that are working well to determine how they can benefit the larger health care system. The center will also look at ways that information can be better shared throughout the system, to reduce medical errors and to bring greater quality and efficiency to the delivery of care. At Walmart’s core, is a commitment to take what we do best and share it so our customers and communities can benefit. - Linda Dillman, executive vice president of risk management and benefits
