The initiative’s goal is to drive innovation and sustainable business practices throughout our company and those of our suppliers and is focused on three objectives: - Build a world-class, high-value sustainable supply chain;
- Sell sustainable products in China and around the world; and
- Become the best-in-class sustainable retailer in China.
The initiative is aligned with the Chinese Government’s environmental, social, and energy objectives. And it is fully aligned with our company’s global sustainability goals: to be supplied 100 percent by renewable energy; to create zero waste; and to sell products that sustain our resources and the environment. The initiative supports our ultimate mission of helping our customers save money so they can live better. The Summit brought together nearly 1,000 of Walmart’s leading suppliers, Chinese officials and other stakeholders, with the goal of improving business practices in the global supply chain.
