"Give Back with Barbie Cares" a fun way for moms and daughters to help advance recycling
Barbie is famous for her signature pink outfits, but she’s teaming up with Wal-Mart to go green. We invited customers to have fun while contributing to a more sustainable future with “Give Back with Barbie Cares," an in-store event that occurred Saturday, Nov. 8. Moms, daughters and Barbie lovers brought their Barbie dolls to be used in a pilot program exploring toy recyclability at participating toy departments. Furthermore, for each doll collected, Mattel donated a new doll to a local children’s hospital, up to 100,000 dolls. Customers could also bring their digital cameras to snap a picture with Barbie and receive a coupon to print a free 4x6” photo from the Kodak Picture Maker that same day. Other Barbie-themed give-aways were on hand, while supplies lasted. One thousand stores hosted a live Barbie and 2,000 had a standee. View a list of participating stores.
