Youths 'shop with a cop' in Colton

COLTON - Near-freezing temperatures Sunday morning didn't keep them at home.

About 28 underprivileged kids from Colton and surrounding areas went to the Walmart at 1120 S. Mount Vernon Ave. to spend some dough with local public-safety employees.

The event, dubbed "Shop with a Cop," is sponsored annually by the Safety Employees Benefit Association - the union that represents rank-and- file law-enforcement employees in San Bernardino County. Read on.
