Nine area organizations received checks worth $1,000 each from the Laurel Walmart Thursday.

The Pine Burr Area Council of the Boy Scouts, Animal Rescue League, Restoration Life Guardian Angel Center, State Veteran's Home, Laurel High School, Jones County Vocational School, United Blood Services, Laurel Fire Department and Northeast Jones High School received community grants. Read on
