FYE 1/31/09: $401.2 billion, a 7.2 percent increase over the previous year Community Involvement In 2008, Walmart Stores, Inc. and its Foundation gave $378 million in cash and in-kind donations to benefit more than 4,000 U.S. communities. That is more than 7 million per week and an increase of $82 million over giving in 2007. Walmart operations outside of the U.S. increased their community support in 2008, donating $45.5 million, up from $41 million in 2007. Additionally, Walmart customers and associates donated $106 million through individual contributions and company-sponsored fundraisers around the world, bringing total 2008 giving to nearly $530 million.
